Color Separations

FreelanceArtDepartment™ uses a wide variety of techniques from spot color to complex simulated process and everything in between (including 4 color process, index color separations and much more!) We can color separate art jobs you already have or provide you with separations on jobs we do for you.

IMPORTANT NOTE: FreelanceArtDepartment™ does not use any third-party assistance programs or outsource contacts to color separate for us, each job is color separated on an individual basis by an in-house graphics professional with over 20 years of color separating experience in the screen printing industry. Your color separations will be separated using a variety of proprietary techniques that only FreelanceArtDepartment™ can provide. Our work speaks for itself! Please allow us the opportunity to assist your company with our art and color separations services.

Depending on the complexity of the artwork, color separations for basic spot color designs are provided in Adobe Illustrator CS4 (We can also back save to an older version of Illustrator or provide you with a Corel file for our Corel using clients upon request). More complex designs requiring halftone work and process work will be provided in TIF format, ready to print to film. No work is needed on our client's end to use our Color Separations! Simply "Open" and "Print" them to film, all of the halftones and angles will be set for you!

All color separations are provided with print order, ink color, date, job name and number and other information that may be needed on a per job basis (such as flashing instructions, screen mesh recommendations, PMS color if needed, etc.)

Most jobs are able to be color separated and returned to you in 1-2 business days, with many basic jobs returned the following day.

On more complex jobs, we have the ability to provide you with a press proof (like these examples) which will show you (and your customer) how the job will look on the press.
